Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 April 2026
Welcome to Friday DJ. These Terms describe the deal between you and us when you use the Friday DJ app and website at fridaydj.com. By signing in, you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@FridayDJ.com.
1. What Friday DJ is
Friday DJ is a weekly music ritual. You join or create small circles with people you know, take turns curating 10-song playlists, and vote on each other's picks. There's also a weekly all-listener playlist curated by the DJ. That's the whole product.
2. Your account
To use Friday DJ you need to sign in with an email and password. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for everything that happens on your account. If someone else uses your account to misbehave, we'll treat it as if you did.
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Friday DJ (or the minimum age in your country, whichever is higher). If you're under 18, please check with a parent or guardian before signing up.
3. What you can't do
The short list:
- Don't use Friday DJ to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone.
- Don't upload or share content that's illegal, infringing, or designed to deceive.
- Don't scrape, reverse-engineer, or try to break our systems.
- Don't pretend to be someone you're not or impersonate another user.
- Don't use Friday DJ for anything commercial without our written permission.
If you do any of the above we can suspend or delete your account without warning.
4. Your content and playlists
Songs on Friday DJ are played via YouTube embeds. We don't host audio — YouTube's own player handles playback, and all content remains subject to YouTube's terms and licensing.
When you submit a playlist, comment, or other content, you keep ownership of anything you create. You grant Friday DJ a non-exclusive licence to display that content inside the app so your circle can see it. We won't sell your content or use it to train models.
5. Third-party services
Friday DJ depends on YouTube and Supabase to work. If any of them go down, so do we. Their terms apply alongside ours: YouTube, Supabase.
6. Changes to the service
Friday DJ is an active product. We'll keep adding, removing, and tweaking features. We can change or discontinue any part of the service at any time. If we make a change that materially reduces what the service does, we'll email registered users where we reasonably can.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using Friday DJ at any time by asking us to delete your account at hello@FridayDJ.com. We'll remove your profile, submitted playlists, and votes within 30 days.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms or if continuing to host the account causes us legal or operational problems.
8. The boring legal bits
Friday DJ is provided “as is” with no warranty. We do our best to keep it running and secure, but we can't guarantee it's error-free or always available.
To the extent allowed by law, Friday DJ and its creators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
9. Updates to these Terms
We can update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be flagged to signed-in users. If you keep using Friday DJ after a change, you're agreeing to the updated version.
